Realistic Me is a personal blog written by Elizabeth Khalaf. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. Plain language, no legalese — because I’d want the same.
The short version
I collect your email address only if you hand it to me, I use it only to send you the thing you asked for and the occasional post, and you can leave any time with one click. I don’t sell your information to anyone, ever.
Email sign-ups and free printables
When you enter your email address to download a free printable, that address is stored with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email service I use to send the file and, later, new posts. Kit stores your email address, the date you subscribed, and basic engagement data such as whether an email was opened. I use it to deliver the printable you requested and to send occasional updates about new posts and printables.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes you immediately — no reply needed, no hard feelings. You can also email me and I’ll remove you myself. Kit’s own handling of your data is covered by their privacy policy.
Comments
This blog runs on Blogger, which is owned by Google. If you leave a comment, Google may collect your name, your Google profile information, and your IP address. That’s handled under Google’s privacy policy, not mine.
Cookies, analytics, and ads
Blogger and Google Analytics set cookies that tell me things like how many people read a post and which country they came from. It’s aggregate and anonymous — I can see that forty people read the shapes post, not who they were.
This site may also display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
Links to other sites
I link to other people’s printables, songs, books, and resources because they’re good and because credit matters. Once you click through, you’re on their site under their privacy policy, and I have no control over what they collect.
Children
This site is written for parents and caregivers, not for children. I don’t knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given me their information, email me and I will delete it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me what data I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it entirely. If you’re in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), those rights are guaranteed by law, but I’d honor them regardless. I don’t sell personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of on that front.
Changes to this policy
If I change how any of this works, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
Getting in touch
Questions, corrections, or a request to be removed from anything: email realisticmeals@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you.
